Artist Profile Carolee Schneemann is a multidisciplinary artist who has contributed greatly to the discourse on the body, sexuality, and gender in contemporary art. Recent exhibitions of her work include a retrospective at the Musée Rochechouart in France; an exhibition at the WRO Biennial in Wroclaw, Poland related to a feature film on her life and work titled Breaking the Frame; and an installation in the MoMA’s recent show “On Line: Drawing Through the Twentieth Century”. Schneemann is the subject of several publications including Correspondence Course: An Epistolary History of Carolee Schneemann and Her Circle as well as Imaging Her Erotics – Essays, Interviews, Projects and More Than Meat Joy: Complete Performance Work and Selected Writing.
